Madhav (Sanjeev Kumar), a small town resident, faces legal wrath due to his violent actions. After his term in prison is over, he moves to Sonpur and begins a new life as a grocer He wishes to lead the rest of his life by adhering to principles like truth. But his business competitors plant stiff challenges in his way. He meets the village damsel Imli (Leena Chandavarkar).
