Synopsis: Saathi - The Companion' is the story of two couples in love and the problems they face. Varsha and Anjali (Rupa Dutta and Anchal Anand) are best friends. Baldev (Tiku Talsania), Anjali's father, is gladly awaiting the arrival of Vijay (Divvij Kak), his good friend Mahesh's son as he has planned to marry Anjali to Vijay. Anjali, however, loves Akash (Sameer Ali Khan), her college mate.
The three youngsters devise a plan and Anjali brings Akash to her house as Vijay. Meanwhile, Varsha takes Vijay to a farmhouse. Adding a twist to the story Vijay takes Varsha to be Anjali and falls in love with her. Anjali's plan is foiled by Prasanna (Alok Nath), an employee of Baldev, who is later left shocked to see that his daughter Varsha is also a part of the game plan. Woven into this is a subplot consisting of the sinister plans of Jaidev, Baldev's brother, to get hold of the property.
