Watch Movie Now-Dak Bangla
Synopsis:
Dak Bangla is a 1987 cropper horror movie starring Marc Zuber, Mazhar Khan, Viju Khote, Ranjeet and some other flash-in-the-pan and one of the first roles of Praveen Kumar who later on went to play Bheema in B R Chopra's Mahabharat. The movie seems to me made on a very -- very -- low budget, and the producers should be lauded for even thinking that they could make the money on such a budget. Here's the synopsis of this one:
The movie begins with the now well known premise. A couple is at it somewhere away in the outskirts of a city, and they hear a voice. Well, it is 1987 and there is more skinshow, brace yourself for the image gallery down below. The noise disturbs the couple and they walk towards the origin of the noise -- only to run out in the rain -- the woman in her transparent white negligee and the man barechested. Both of them die, of course, but not before the woman is drenched in rain.
After a while, we see a couple, Ajay (Marc Zuber and an unknown one, credits say it's Aaloka. Never heard of her), and the wife has a stunningly frank idea about her husband. She knows that he has no experience, and the only thing that he can do is speak English. He is freshly unemployed, and comes across an advertisement for a manager of the Dak Bangla. He applies and the owner of the Dak Bangla gives him the job, but only after a warning that the previous manager committed suicide for unknown reasons.
We are then introduced to his sister-in-law Sapna (Swapna), who is studying in a college in the city. She has a couple of friends, and her boyfriend, Raj. After the examinations, the girls decide to visit Sapna's brother-in-law at the Dak Bangla, and dissuades Raj and his friend to come near the Dak Bangla. However, Raj's friend ends up coming there dressed like a girl and Raj follows them with a song and dance routine.
At the Dak Bangla, Ajay and his wife face a lot of opposition from the villagers, and are not able to find any transport to the Bangla, but reach the place on foot. At the Bangla, they see that the food is laid out for them, but there is nobody at the Bangla. As anyone would do if they see food laid out in an isolated, lonely place, the husband and wife sit down to have their dinner.
At night, Ajay's wife has dreams of Sapna being killed by someone and also of a hidden room in the Bangla having her sister's painting, with blood spilt over it. This is a cue from the uber successful reincarnation and occult movies that made a splash in Bollywood back in the '80s. She wakes up from the dream and requests Ajay to take her to the room, and the two go to the room, and are quite surprised to find the photo with the blood stain intact.
At that moment, Sapna and her friends come to the Bangla and all is forgotten. The next day, Sapna's boyfriend comes to the Bangla as a random guest, but Ajay immediately understands that he is Sapna's boyfriend.
That night, Sapna has the same dreams that her sister has, and she requests Raj to take her to the room. Raj and Sapna go to the room and after some stock sounds and photography of rain and thundering, the photo falls down, and we see a diary.
The two read the diary, and then they understand that Sapna was Princess Swapna in her earlier birth. She was married to a prince, and was molested by a manbeast once. The prince whoops the manbeast's ass, but Swapna's father warns the prince that the manbeast will come to avenge his insult, which he does. He kills Swapna and the Prince and the King has him arrested. He breaks the guy's hands and legs in what could be the least expensive special effects in filmed media and locks the inner sanctum of the Dak Bangla with the emblem of the Sun God. When the manbeast's father comes to know of this, he creates a Frankenstein out of him, but is locked by the King in the sanctum with the manbeast.
When they come out, they see that the caretaker of the Dak Bangla is not what he seems. He is the leader of a criminal gang that has recently robbed a bank. They are waiting for the other gang members to come with the loot, and warn the others not to act smart, or they will kill them!
However, the manbeast that was locked below is now alive, and kills most of them one by one.
