Rahul (Kamal Sadanah) is an errant youth, lavishly spending the money of his greedy father, Seth Banwarilal (Anupam Kher). Tried of his ways, Banwarilal wants Rahul to get married but this causes Rahul to run away from home. He elopes with his friend Peter (Ali Asghar) to Chamba where he meet Nikky (Tisca Chopra), the daughter of Industrialist Mr. Jalan (Saeed Jaffrey). Rahul and Nikky, after many clashes fall in love with each other but Jalan comes to know about Nikky's affair and disapproves their love. Meanwhile, Banwarilal does not approve of his son choosing a bride on his own, and has already made arrangements with his wealthy childhood friend, for Rahul's marriage. Will the star-crossed lovers triumph in love or fall prey to the odds stacked against them?
